Fun in the sun…safely
Now that we are firmly in the middle of the summer, let’s make sure we are keeping the kids protected! We’ve gathered some great
tips from the experts so you have them in one spot.
Sunscreen:
Parents has a comprehensive list with the breakdown of why each sunscreen is great for what occasion and skin type. Remember to reapply regularly, especially after there has been contact with water.
Head Protection:
We LOVE this brush on sunscreen from Colorscience. It’s not only great for babies and kids with thin hair, it’s easy to apply (and reapply) and keep in the car.
Our favorite adventure hat is from Sunday Afternoons. It has an SPF of 50, a nice wide brim, neck strap to keep it secure and an extended brim in the back for extra next protection.
Clothing/Swimwear:
Coolibar is always our go to for the best protection in clothing and swimwear. They have great full coverage swimwear options, keeping that delicate skin safe!
Swim Safety:
Alive Solutions did a really eye opening study on swim suit colors and visibility. The bottom line: Neon colors are best for all bodies of water and blue and dark colors have the worst visibility.
Whether you are having a pool or a beach day, make sure you keep the sunscreen flowing, keep those little heads covered and
never take your eyes off even the strongest swimmers.
Follow those tips and have a safe and healthy summer!
